All the neighbours were there including the new one. Here "Including" is an example of -

Participle Preposition :

Present Participle অথবা Past Participle, Preposition-এর মত ব্যবহার হলে তাকে Participle Preposition বলে।

যেমন—

Past - The man went past me.

Regarding - I know nothing regarding this matter.

Participle Preposition হলো সেইসব Preposition যা মূলত Verb-এর Present Participle (Verb + ing) অথবা Past Participle (V3) রূপ থেকে গঠিত হয়, কিন্তু বাক্যে কোনো Verb-এর কাজ না করে সরাসরি Preposition হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

১. মূল বৈশিষ্ট্যসমূহ:

• এগুলো দেখতে Verb-এর মতো হলেও বাক্যে এদের কাজ হয় Noun বা Pronoun-এর সাথে সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করা।

• এদের সাথে সাধারণত কোনো Auxiliary Verb (am, is, are) থাকে না।

• এগুলো কোনো কাজ করা বোঝায় না, বরং একটি নির্দিষ্ট অবস্থা বা প্রেক্ষাপট তৈরি করে।

২. সাধারণ কিছু Participle Preposition-এর তালিকা:

• Regarding (বিষয়ে / সম্বন্ধে)

• Considering (বিবেচনায়)

• Concerning (বিষয়ে)

• Including (সহ / অন্তর্ভুক্ত করে)

• Excluding (ব্যতীত / বাদ দিয়ে)

• During (সময়ে)

• Pending (অমীমাংসিত থাকা অবস্থায়)

• Given (প্রদত্ত / বিবেচনায় নিয়ে)

৩. বাক্যে ব্যবহারের উদাহরণ:

• Regarding: I have no information regarding this matter. (এই বিষয়ে আমার কাছে কোনো তথ্য নেই।)

• Considering: Considering his age, he did a great job. (তার বয়স বিবেচনায় নিলে, সে দারুণ কাজ করেছে।)

• During: I fell asleep during the movie. (মুভি চলাকালীন সময়ে আমি ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছিলাম।)

• Including: There are five members in the family, including me. (আমাকে সহ পরিবারের সদস্য সংখ্যা পাঁচ জন।)

• Pending: The decision is pending further investigation. (আরও তদন্তের অপেক্ষায় সিদ্ধান্তটি অমীমাংসিত রয়েছে।)

৪. Participle Preposition বনাম Verb (পার্থক্য):

চেনার উপায় হলো—বাক্যে শব্দটি যদি কাজ করা বোঝায় তবে সেটি Verb, আর যদি কেবল সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করে তবে সেটি Preposition।
